Week 9: When I Hold On To What Is Wrong

Day 5 Bible Reading: John 15:1-8

Remainz

Remain in me, as I also remain in you (V.4).

A speaker was talking about what it means to “remain” in Jesus (JOHN 15:4) and trust Him completely in everything. He repeated several times, “It means that in every circumstance you can keep on saying, ‘For this I have Jesus.’ ”

The meeting was then opened for everyone to share their thoughts. One young woman said, “Just a few minutes ago I got a text. It reads, ‘Mum is very ill; take train home now.’ When I saw those words, I knew that tonight’s message was meant for me. I said to myself, ‘For this I have Jesus.’ Instantly I felt peace and strength.”

Three weeks later the speaker got an email from this woman. It read, “Thank you again for the message you gave that day. Life has become filled with God-centred confidence, for I have come to realise that no matter what life brings, for this I have Jesus.”

If you are going through a tough time, remember—for this you have Jesus!
