Day 3 Bible Reading: 1 John 1:5-2:2
Guilt’s Grip
Can you think of anything that’s too hard for God to do? Or imagine one of your friends came to you saying they’d done something terrible and couldn’t imagine God forgiving them. What would you say?
In one article, the writer talked about a teenager who was having a hard time believing that God could forgive her for the things she’d done wrong. Even though she knew the Bible says God had forgiven her, she still felt dirty in her heart.
When we tell ourselves that our sin is so bad God won’t forgive us, we’re doubting His power. We are stopping ourselves from enjoying the gift of a fresh start with God (1 JOHN 1:5-10).
Are you struggling with guilt? Is it taking over your life? God’s forgiveness is not based on what you do or what you have done. It is only based on what Jesus did on the cross. God’s forgiveness is an offer for all of us; we just need to thank Him for it.

To Pray About . . .
Lord, please forgive me for what I've done wrong. I don't want to go back to my old ways anymore.
