Day 1 Bible Reading: Matthew 6:1-18
Limits
Do you look at your friends and classmates and feel like you don’t have much to offer? Are they better at sports, music and art? If you feel limited compared to the people around you, don’t give up!
As Christians, we can give our every problem, limit and concern to God. We need to remember that He made us, just as we are—in His “own image” (GEN. 1:26). Even the stuff we don’t like about ourselves is part of His plan for us.
Just think about Moses who struggled with a speech impediment. When he tried to use it as an excuse not to obey God, “the Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths?... Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say’ ” (EX. 4:11-12).
We might not like how we look or what we can do. We can be quick to hush up our limits—but God gives them great value. He chose them for a reason. We can use them to honour Him and show others something of His love.
