Day 4 Bible Reading: John 2:13-22
Remember!
Jesus’ friends remembered—and then they believed. After Jesus’ death on the cross and His resurrection, they finally understood His words: “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days” (JOHN 2:19).
If our relationship with Jesus is to grow and deepen, we too need to remember the cross and the empty tomb. The way to keep remembering is communion: we take bread and wine with other Christians “in remembrance of [Him]” (1 COR. 11:24).
Every time we drink from the cup and eat the bread, we remember what it cost Him to save us and make us God’s own children. Not that we should focus on the past only—we should also keep our eyes on the future. We are to take part in communion “until he comes” (V.26).
As we remember Jesus’ death and resurrection, our trust and confidence in Him are strengthened. Let’s remember!
