Day 5 Bible Reading: Psalm 27
Never Give Up Going to Church
Why bother going to church? Some friends might say it’s better to sleep late on Sunday and then chill! Why bother going to church? It’s a waste of time!
As for worship, who needs it anyway? Actually, we all do! We need worship because we are made in the image of God. We are made for God, so we can’t live as we’re meant to unless we have a right relationship with Him. Singing praises to God, meeting with other Christians and being taught from the Bible sets our focus back on Him.
Joining with other Christians in church helps us put our stresses and problems in perspective. It’s where we can be supported by God’s family, finding the love and comfort of Jesus. It sets us up for the week ahead so that each day can be one of worshipping God and focusing on Him.
One Christian wrote: “When we go to church, our minds are fed by God’s truth; our imaginations are cleaned up by the purity of God; we’re opened up to the love of God; and we’re brought back in line with the purpose of God . . . We are helped onward in our goal of becoming more like God.”
Let’s agree now that on Sunday we will be in church!

To Pray About . . .
Lord, thanks for redeeming us and joining us together as Your church. I will (start to or continue to) attend my church, and encourage others in becoming more like You.
