Day 2 Bible Reading: Luke 19:37-44
Aching for Others
Have you ever done one of those “which are you” online quizzes? Ones like “Which celebrity are you?” or “What’s your personality type?”
I was doing one when it asked: “What do most people not know about you?” The list of options it gave didn’t fit for me. The answer is that I get very slushy. I cry when I’m watching movies or reading books—even the smallest things. I’m a total wuss really!
Maybe it’s no big deal to cry at movies and made-up stories. But it’s a different matter to feel deep sadness over real people and their needs. When we ache for others because of their pain or struggles, we’re copying how Jesus Himself feels.
Jesus felt deep sadness and heartache when He came to Jerusalem because they had rejected Him. He said: “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace” (LUKE 19:42).
Jesus doesn’t want anyone to be cut off from Him. As we meet people today who don’t know Him yet, let’s ask God to help us see them through His eyes. They are not just people—they are His people. But they are lost and heading the wrong way; they need a Saviour. They need Jesus.

To Pray About . . .
Lord, I submit my family and friends who do not know You into Your hands. Please guide them to You and let them accept Your salvation.
