Day 1 Bible Reading: Philippians 4:10-13
Loneliness
If you think about it, it should be impossible to be lonely. After all, there are more than six billion people on earth! But even in crowded shopping centres or busy classrooms, it’s easy to feel on our own.
And loneliness is something that anyone can suffer from. If you’re lonely, perhaps I can offer some encouragement. The Bible gives three action points that can help ease our loneliness:
Learn satisfaction. Read Philippians 4:10-13 and then ask God to help you to rely on Him each day and to learn to be content in any situation. Our satisfaction comes from Him, not the amount of people in our lives.
Do good for someone. Read Hebrews 13:1-3 and then look for someone in need of help. Our loneliness gets smaller as we focus more on others and less on ourselves.
Spend time with God’s people. Hebrews 10:21-25 reminds us how important it is to meet with other Christians. When we go to church, Bible studies and prayer meetings, we join with our family.
If you’re feeling lonely, I pray these action points will help change your thinking and remind you that when you know God, you’re never alone.
