Day 2 Bible Reading: John 14:1-12
Seeing God
I remember hearing a story about a little boy who was drawing a picture of God. Someone looked over his shoulder and said, “You can’t do that—nobody knows what God looks like!”
“They will when I get through!” the boy said. Do you wonder what God is like? Is He good? Is He kind? Does He care? In the Bible, Philip asked: “Lord, show us the Father.” Jesus replied, “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father” (JOHN 14:8-9).
If you ever get hungry to see God, look at Jesus. “The Son is the image of the invisible God,” wrote Paul (COL. 1:15). Read through the four records of Jesus’ life in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Take time to think about what Jesus did and said. ‘Draw’ your own mental picture of God as you read. You’ll know much more about what He’s like if you do.
As you read about Jesus you’ll find everything you’ve ever wanted. You might not know it, but Jesus is the God you’ve been looking for.

To Pray About . . .
Father, so often we look for You in the wrong places. Help us see You more clearly in Jesus as we read our Bibles and spend time getting to know the real You.
