Day 4 Bible Reading: Psalm 90:1-12
Where Are We Going So Fast
Scientists tell us that we are moving even when we are standing still. The earth spins at about 1,000 miles per hour. And it is circling the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour. Our solar system whirls around the centre of our galaxy at 490,000 miles per hour. But that’s not all. Our Milky Way galaxy is hurtling through space at 1.3 million miles per hour!
It’s hard to imagine all that speed when you’re just chilling out in your room or sitting around with friends. It can seem like things are moving so slow that nothing is ever going to really change. But Christians know the truth. Just as we are hurtling through space at amazing speeds, so too are we moving from here to heaven quicker than we might realise. Our days on earth pass by so fast that we can’t afford to waste any of them.
One psalm writer prayed, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (PS. 90:12). May that be our prayer too. Father God, help us to live without laziness as we travel quickly from our home here on earth to Your heavenly home above.

To Pray About . . .
Father, thank You for giving me life and time here on earth. Teach me to be wise and number my days, so I don't let my time go to waste, but give You my all even though I may be young.
