Week 83 Bible Reading: Psalm 36:5–10

The winter gloves kept disappearing.

Megan remembers the day her Mom confronted her about them. Every week before that day she’d gone to school with a new pair only to come home without them.

“Megan, you’ve got to be more responsible! This can’t go on!”

Tears fell down Megan’s cheeks. She wasn’t losing her gloves, she said. She was giving them away to kids who couldn’t afford them. And it was a cold winter.

Now in high school, Megan continues to give and serve; daily she mentors kids in an after-school program. She also volunteers at the local soup kitchen during the winter, handing out hot cocoa and coffee on cold winter nights.

Megan’s heart reflects God’s generous one. With Jesus in your heart, your heart mirrors God’s too! Today, how can you show God’s love through what you say and do?

Jesus, show me ways to love and serve the people around me. Help me be generous, like You.
