Week 80 Bible Reading: Psalm 139:1–12
With You, Always
You are all around me, behind me and in front of me. You hold me safe in your hand. I’m amazed at how well you know me. It’s more than I can understand. - Psalm 139:5–6 (NIrV)
Every morning, Julie’s black lab puppy, Tucker, wakes her up, jumping on her bed, tail wagging. His chocolate brown eyes seem to ask Julie, Are you ready to play with me?
Throughout the day, Tucker won’t leave Julie’s side. He follows her into the bathroom as she brushes her teeth. He lies down at her feet at dinner. And he sits on her lap while she does her homework (he even tries to eat it—sometimes Julie wishes he would!).
Tucker is loyal to Julie.
In the Bible, King David talks about God’s loyal love for us: “You are all around me, behind me and in front of me. You hold me safe in your hand” (Psalm 139:5 NIrV). God goes before us, behind us. He is with us and for us. He watches our every step.
So, when you’re walking to the bus stop? You’ve got a Friend, right there beside you. And when you’re doing your homework? Sitting with you is Jesus, helping you creatively solve problems. And when you’re feeling afraid? God will keep you safe.
God promises to be with you, always.
Jesus, whatever I’m doing or wherever I am, You’ll go with me—You’re my biggest fan. Thanks for always watching over me.
