Week 68 Bible Reading: Galatians 5:22–23

God's Favorite Fruit

I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit. - John 15:16

What’re your favorite fruits? Tart and crisp apples? Sweet and tangy clementines? Or even slices of cold, refreshing watermelon? With so many delicious kinds, it’s hard to decide which are the best.

God has favorite fruit too. At all times, the Holy Spirit is busily at work in your heart: planting seeds, tending to, and growing orchards full of amazing fruit. Fruit like love, joy, peace, patience and kindness, and more. The most exciting thing for the Holy Spirit? Watching these fruits mature in you! You see, the Holy Spirit is a master Gardener. He delights to see how He’s changing your thinking, your attitudes, and your actions in the process of tending to and growing His fruit in you. Through His gardening and attentive care, He’s making you become more like Christ, God’s Son. Nothing gives your Gardener more joy than seeing you grow to be more like Jesus.

Today, what kind of fruit is your Gardener growing inside of you?

What fruit has the Holy Spirit been growing in you?
Jesus, thanks for Your fruit that grows inside of me! Help me grow in love and joy and peace today.
