Heart To Serve
When Katie Davis Majors met her neighbor Agnes—a nine- year-old orphan with a big smile—she had no idea Agnes would one day call her “Mommy.”
At nineteen, Katie moved to Uganda to serve God and kids. She began teaching at a kindergarten in a small village, where she met Agnes, who lived in a mud hut near Katie’s home.
One day, during a heavy rainstorm, the roof of Agnes’s hut collapsed, with Agnes inside. Katie rushed Agnes to the hospital and, later, invited her stay with her. Today Katie is adoptive mom to Agnes—and twelve other girls who were orphaned or neglected. Following Jesus has led Katie to love kids in big ways.
Whether you go to a faraway place like Uganda or serve in your own neighborhood, Jesus invites all of us on an adventure of loving one another. Are you in?
