Day 2 Bible Reading: Hebrews 4:11-16
Buckling Up!
-Hebrews 4:16
“The captain has turned on the seat belt sign. We are entering an area of turbulence. Please return to your seats immediately and securely fasten your seat belts.” This is the sort of thing announced on planes when we’re about to fly through rough air. Securely in our seats, we can ride out the turbulence.
Most of the time, life doesn’t warn us of the rough patches coming our way. But our Father knows and cares about our struggles, and He tells us to bring our problems, hurts and worries to Him. The Bible tells us “[Jesus] understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most” (HEB. 4:15-16 NLT).
In rough patches, talking to God is the best thing we can do. The phrase “grace to help us when we need it” means that with Him we can be ‘buckled up’ in peace, because we bring our worries to the One who is greater than anything else! When life feels like too much, we can pray. God will help us through the turbulence.

To Pray About . . .
Father, sometimes life is really hard. Help me to trust You with all the rough patches of life, knowing how deeply You care about me.
