Warrior Power
Have you ever been ready to explode in anger? Maybe your sister visited your closet and put on your favorite shirt ... without asking. In that moment, you started to boil. Your heart began to race. And your face turned beet red.
Right then, would it be wise to explain to your sister that borrowing your shirt without asking wasn’t very considerate?
Probably not (at least if you wanted her to listen to you!).
It’s easy to explode in anger. When that happens, though, we often say or do things we later regret. The Bible tells us that controlling our temper makes us even stronger than a warrior (Proverbs 16:32). Self-control makes us powerful!
The next time you see your sister wearing your favorite shirt without asking, remember that you have power! First, take a deep breath. Maybe count to ten. Or walk away to cool down a few minutes (or an hour or two). Once your face has returned to its normal shade, humbly share with your sister how her actions made you feel.
In that moment, you’re a girl of real power—stronger than even the mightiest warrior.
