Not Fear But Faith
Have you ever been asked to step out and be brave? Maybe you were asked to speak in front of your class? Or join a new sports team? Or take an art class?
God asked the Israelites to step out and be brave too, to move into His Promised Land. When He sent spies to check it out, though, all but two spies freaked out.
“Giants were in the land!” they reported. “Next to them we’re like grasshoppers,” they said.
The two brave spies Caleb and Joshua stood up. They challenged everyone: “You’ve forgotten the most important thing—God is on our side!”
But no one listened to them. Because of fear, the Israelites walked around a desert for forty years before entering the Promised Land. It’s a sad story, really.
Sometimes our fear controls us, just as it did for the Israelites. If that happens to you, you can stop and ask God for help, even a simple “Help me, God!” will do. He’ll listen to you. Remember He’s promised to walk beside you, go before you, and be with you.
So what are you waiting for? Go out and try something new! God’s got you.
