Never Alone
Colombian soccer player Radamel Falcao scored in the seventieth minute of the 2018 World Cup game—helping his team beat Poland. It wasn’t just a win for the team. The goal—his thirtieth—was also a win for Falcao. Falcao had now scored more goals than any other Colombian player, ever. Simply put, Falcao is the best of the best.
Falcao loves Jesus too. His fans know it. How? Whenever he lifts up his jersey, they see a shirt that says, Con Jesus nunca estara solo: “With Jesus you’ll never be alone.”
This message points to a promise Jesus gave to His disciples: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). He wanted to encourage them, that although he was returning to heaven, He’d send His own Spirit—the Holy Spirit—to them. He’d live forever inside them!
Christ gives us the same promise: No matter where we go, whether close to home or faraway, we can receive the amazing joy and comfort knowing He’s with us.
