Little by Little
Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land. - Exodus 23:30 (NIV)
Have you ever faced an impossible challenge? Then sit up and listen to this story: After a blizzard, a little girl was supposed to clear a path in front of her house. Her tool to take on the huge snowdrifts? Just a small shovel. When a neighbor saw the small girl shoveling snow piles towering above her head, he laughed.
“How can someone as small as you dig yourself out of snowdrifts this big?” he asked. The girl looked up and replied, “Little by little, that’s how!” And she kept on shoveling.
Today you could face something as seemingly impossible as that small girl’s. How are you going to finish it? Just tell yourself, “little by little.” God led His people into the Promised Land “little by little.” He helped them defeat bigger and stronger enemies so they could settle in and make Israel their very own home (Exodus 23:30).
Whatever you’re up against today, God wants to encourage you. He’ll come alongside you, just as He did for the Israelites. With God’s help, you’ll rise to the challenge, little by little.
