Turtle Tough
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. - Romans 5:3
When baby sea turtles enter our world, they start running. Their first run? A dangerous race across the beach to the ocean (which is a crazy distance with short legs!). And, along the way? Crabs, raccoons—or anything lurking on the beach—is excited to turn them into lunch.
What a scary start, especially for such little dudes! It doesn’t seem fair.
Did you know the turtles wouldn’t survive the ocean without this journey? Once they reach the sea, they come up against Great White sharks. They face down Orcas. They swim across entire oceans. This first race trains them for the many challenges they will face.
Struggles aren’t just for tiny turtles—but for us too! The Bible says, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance” (Romans 5:3). Our challenges can teach us not to give up, helping us become all God is calling us to be.
Are you struggling right now? Maybe your challenge is preparing you for the wild and wonderful adventures God has in store for you.
