An Amazing Treasure
In March 1974, Chinese farmers who were digging a well made a shocking discovery: Buried under the dry ground of central China was what we now call the Terracotta Army—life-size sculptures that dated back 2,200 years! Amazingly, there were statues of some 8,000 soldiers, 150 cavalry horses, and 130 chariots drawn by 520 horses—all still intact! This has become a popular tourist site in China; more than a million visitors see it each year. This amazing treasure had been underground for twenty-two centuries!
Speaking of treasures—you have one inside you if you are a Christian. In 2 Corinthians 4:7, the apostle Paul wrote: “We have the treasure of the good news in these earthly bodies of ours” (nirv). The treasure inside us is the message of Christ and His love, and we are supposed to tell others about it.
God wants other people to be welcomed into His family. Can you share that treasure with your friends?
