Make It Simple
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matthew 6:34
During a radio interview, a basketball superstar was asked about his knack for making game-winning shots in crucial situations. The reporter asked how he was able to be so calm in such pressure-packed moments. The player said he tried to simplify the situation. “You only have to make one shot,” he said. One shot. That is making a tough situation simple! Focus only on what is next. Make it simple.
Jesus would agree with that! He said, “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself” (Matthew 6:34). Worry doesn’t do any good; it just makes us feel overwhelmed. It’s better to take things as they come—one day at a time—and trust God to help us do the right thing.
As you get older, your life will get complicated. Practice now trusting Jesus and not worrying. Do what’s next and trust God with the rest. Make things simple. As Jesus said, “Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
