Did you know that you make over three thousand choices each day? Crazy, right? That number only grows as you get older—up to thirty-five thousand choices daily. The secret to making good choices is found in a Bible story.

One night, God showed up in King Solomon’s dream. He asked, “What do you want?” (1 Kings 3:5). Solomon could have asked for money, fame, or even a never-ending supply of cookies-and-cream ice cream. What he wanted more than anything else, though? To make good choices.

God gave Solomon just what he asked for—a wise heart. (He even threw in a few extras, like riches and fame too. Solomon became so rich, in fact, that silver became worthless in his kingdom because gold was everywhere!) From this time until today, Solomon became famous, all over the world, for making good choices.

Today you’ve got three thousand choices ahead of you. Like Solomon, ask God for wisdom. If you ask, God promises to give you a wise heart.

Jesus, I’ve got so many choices to make today. Please help me make good ones—give me a wise heart.
