Why is Faith at Home Important?
Every parent wants to do their best for their children. The parenting journey is not always easy, and parents need biblical encouragement and support to bring their children up in the way of the Lord. This includes family devotion time, family altars, worship and prayer.
Family is the backbone of Christianity and in the Bible, and parents have the spiritual authority to disciple their children. We hope to journey with you in this, starting with families with pre-teenagers (10-14 years old).
How To Do Family Devotion?
A Step-by-Step Guide
Many parents find the Christian parenting journey challenging. Trying to be a role model while deepening our own relationship with God can be difficult. But one of the ways to do so is spend time with God together as a family.
Doing devotion together will enable parents and children to have intentional conversations about God and His Word. Faith is built through these interactions and parents can better understand their children’s spiritual condition and well-being.
Family Prayer
Opening Sample Prayer
Lord Jesus, You have given us so much – life, friends, family. Help us to share of Your love, of ourselves, of our gifts and time, that others may catch a glimpse of Your goodness and grace. Teach us as a family to reflect You more and more as we live and move together. May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Provide for all our needs and keep us from all evil. We ask these for the sake of Your name and for Your glory. Amen.
